PEDAL FOR A PURPOSE

Join STARS for the 2022 Biking the Boat Charity Ride, and 'Pedal for a Purpose' this June 25th 2022!

This year, participants can choose between three road ride courses that will offer something for everyone. Choose the 50-mile challenge ride, the 20-mile ride, or the 5-mile family fun ride! All registered riders will receive a pre-event swag bag and lunch on event day at West Lincoln Park.
Top fundraisers and contest winners will receive great prizes!
All registered riders will be entered in a drawing to win a New Belgium Cruiser Bike!
All proceeds benefit the STARS mission to empower and enrich lives through adaptive recreational sports.

Location
  West Lincoln Park - 13th and Lincoln (across from the Library)

Where to Park:
There are a few spots reserved for disabled riders on both sides of West Lincoln Park. There will also be approximately 20 spots at B&K Distributing. Otherwise, please park anywhere in town and ride over.
There is good parking at the Transit Center just west on US-40 and you can ride the Core Trail to the Park. 
*Please do not park at the Library*

STRAVA Event Maps
We will be connecting through the free fitness app called STRAVA.
Use your smartphone todownload the app, create an account for yourself, 
and join the "STARS Biking the Boat and Beyond" Club.
All 3 rides are uploaded on our Club page within the app. We encourage you to join our Club, track your ride on event day, and share photos prior to and during the event! If you do not have a smartphone,
you can use a computer to create an account and join our Club.

Rules of the Road:
All participants must read and be aware of the following rules:
OBEY TRAFFIC LAWS, SIGNS AND SIGNALS:  Bicyclists have all rights and duties applicable to the driver of any other vehicle and can be penalized for violating traffic laws.
RIDE SINGLE FILE:  Ride two abreast only when you are not impeding traffic (front or rear) or when all cyclists are on the shoulder. On curving canyon roads, play it safe and ride single file.

Registration is encouraged by Thurs. 6/23/22, however we will take day-of registration

(there is no guarantee late registrants will receive a rider goodie bag)

Packet pick-up & Tours/Social Time @ STARS Ranch:
Friday, June 24th from Noon to 5:30 pm with Social Hour 5:30-6:30 pm
Swing out to the STARS Ranch and ask for a tour and enjoy some pre-event social time with other riders!!

*If you cannot attend packet pick-up during the listed time, please email susan@steamboatstars.com.
*We will not have packet pick-up on event day.

50 mile Ride: Start at 8:00 am

All rides are expected to finish around lunchtime. Registered riders will receive lunch
after they finish and enjoy a host of post-race festivities. 

*21+ ID must be shown to receive alcoholic drink option - no exceptions.

Prizes and Awards:
Best Costume:
Show off your best costume at our event for your chance to win a $50 Christy Sports gift card!
This year's costume contest theme is... Super Heroes!
Dress up as your favorite Super Hero, or get creative and make up your own persona. Buddy costumes are allowed (and encouraged) because teamwork makes the dream work :)

Fastest Female and Male for 50-mile Challenge Ride:
Our fastest female and male riders for the 50-mile course will each receive a $100 gift card to Christy Sports and a STARS gift bag! To enter, riders must log their ride during the event on the STRAVA app, and be a part of our STRAVA Club. We will not accept personal recorded times, and you may not use an e-bike.

Highest Fundraising Team:
Our highest fundraising team will win the honor of having their team name inscribed on our
Biking the Boat and Beyond trophy!

Social Media Super STAR:
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to get entered in this contest! We will be choosing one 'Social Media Super STAR' to win a $50 Visa gift card. Stay engaged with STARS by liking, commenting on, and sharing our event posts! Share your fundraising page to your personal social media pages, and post selfies while you train for your ride. This contest is a great option for our Virtual Fundraisers who will not be present on event day!

*Note: You must be a registered rider to win a contest prize

Registration Fee and Fundraising Minimums:
 
50-Mile Ride: $70.00 with a $250 fundraising minimum
 
20-Mile Ride: $50.00 with a $200 fundraising minimum
 
5-Mile Ride: $20.00 with a $50 fundraising minimum

 Military, civilians with a disability, and children under 5: FREE - these riders will receive a swag bag.
