SKI FOR STARS 

Participating in the Challenge is as easy as 1, 2, 3!  Form a team today! Teams should be a minimum of 4, or up to 8 individuals and can be groups of family members and friends, business colleagues, alumni, Veterans, and neighbors.  We do our best to pair each team with an Olympian, Paralympian, or VIP elite athlete to complete a series of fun on mountain challenges. 

Top fundraisers and competitors will win prizes. 
An overall team champion trophy will also be awarded.
Best Team Costume with an Neon 80's 10th Anniversary Theme wins a prize!! 

In addition to being an excellent fundraiser, the STARS Mountain Challenge is a ton of fun. It’s a special time during the year when
STARS staff, volunteers, local athletes, sponsors, supporters and participants are gathered together to celebrate as a whole community.
Whether as a team member, a sponsor, or individual who provides pledges –
we hope you will consider supporting us in reaching for the STARS and make the mountain SHINE!

Event Challenges
Full Mountain Challenge
- Teams remain together throughout the day, skiing/riding with your VIP athlete and STARS staff or volunteer.
-Ski/ride each chairlift on the mountain at least once - Visit key landmarks - Earn points!

Mini Challenge
- Ride a minimum of 5 lifts
- Earn points for visiting designated areas on the mountain, picture spots and team costumes!

5:30 pm - 7:00 pm - 
Welcome Party - meet your team/guide/VIP athlete, Map Reveal,
Race Packet Pickup at the STARS Ranch (Presentation at 6 p.m.)

Saturday March 9, 2024
Full Mountain Challenge Schedule
7:20-7:30 am - Full Challenge: Skier / Rider check in front of the STARS Basecamp Office at base area
7:30-7:45 am - Gondola upload
(if you miss this short window of time to upload you must wait until 8:30 am to load with the general public)
7:45-8:25 am - Breakfast @ Stoker Bar in Thunderhead Lodge
8:30 am - Group Photo by FreshPrints @ Thunderhead Zone (please do not wear skis/boards)
8:35 am - 3-2-1...!!! Challenge START!!
Noon - 2:00 pm - Lunch at Gravity Haus includes free beer ticket
  1:30 pm - Challenge ends (last time to cross finish line for points)
2:00 pm - Challenge awards at Gravity Haus

Mini Challenge Schedule
9:30 am - Mini Challenge Skier / Rider check in front of the STARS Basecamp Office at base area
9:45 am - Group photo by FreshPrints @ bottom of Christie Chairlift
10:00 am - 3-2-1!! Challenge starts at the bottom of Christie Chairlift
Noon - 2:00 pm - Lunch at Gravity Haus includes free beer ticket
  1:30 pm - Challenge ends (last time to cross finish line for points)
2:00 pm - Challenge awards at Gravity Haus
 
Fees
Mountain Challenge
Registration: $80.00*
(Each individual commits to a $250.00 fundraising minimum in addition to the registration fee of $80.00).

Mini Challenge
Registration: $45.00*
(Each individual commits to a $50.00 fundraising minimum in addition to the registration fee of $45.00).

*Event registration includes day of event breakfast (Full challenge only), complimentary lunch and beer (21+). 

Photos
FreshPrints will be taking Group Photos as well as individual Team Photos @ the Thunderhead Zone as part of the challenges. 
We will email you a link to access your photos once the event is complete.

Lift Tickets
If you require a lift ticket to participate, you are able to make this selection during the registration process. It is an additional cost of $50.   If you have any questions, please contact tori@steamboatstars.com.

Independent skiers with a disability receive a complimentary lift ticket. Please be sure to make this selection during the registration process in order for STARS to appropriately supply the complimentary lift ticket.
